Hummingbirds 4/24

We had a fabulous spring week together!  We learned that our hands have 27 bones and our feet have 26.  We learned that everyone has different fingerprints and that fingerprints help us grip onto things.  We made fingerprint art, using watercolor paints to stamp our fingerprints onto paper.  We had a wonderful Earth Day meeting for worship outside with the Lower School, and our Hummingbirds led everyone in singing “My Own Two Hands.” We also worked on number magic, which is instant recognition of quantities without needing to count (this skill is called subitizing).   We practiced letter and numeral formation, worked on our ABC books and our counting Dot Books.  We made a book about things we love about the Earth on Earth Day.  Each child made their own picture and wrote words.  We practiced kindness and good communication.  The good weather has brought a feeling of joy and celebration in our community!

Here are some photo highlights from the week!
