Hummingbirds 10/16

We had so much fun this week! We continued to deepen our friendships with each other, learn about letters and sounds, practice counting, learni about and play with shapes, make bracelets and necklaces with beads and pipe cleaners, run,  jump, and play outside, read books, , dance, sing, write, color, race cars and build.

On Friday October 30 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, our EC and Kindergarten Friends will enjoy the annual Harvest Fest on our playground.  Parents are invited to attend!

The children can wear their Halloween costumes to school that day, and they will change back into their regular clothes after the festival.

Our Hummingbirds year is off to a fantastic start! Your children are managing the transition to school incredibly well. We are ensuring that each child feels safe, seen, and loved every day.  When we feel a deep sense of physical and emotional safety, our nervous  systems achieve a state of balance. Welcome to our new Hummingbird’ Soleil Rivera joined our class this week🙂!   It is officially fall!  As the weather is getting cooler, it would be helpful to have an extra change of clothes suitable for the cooler times.🙂 Your children have been busy this week strengthening connections with each other, getting more comfortable with teachers, and practicing daily routines. It takes a lot of energy to emotionally and physically self-regulate and manage the cognitive load of moving through a whole school day. You have probably noticed how extra tired your children are at the end of the day. This exhaustion is normal, and it is also indicative of the ways in which your children are being stretched and challenged to grow in important ways.   This week we asked the children what they want to learn about in school this year.
